One Hour Sweater Hat

For the five minutes of winter that happens in SoCal I wanted to try out this idea I read about somewhere. Basically you take an old sweater ( I got mine at Goodwill ) and use it to create a winter cap.

The original idea was to use the ribbing at the bottom of the sweater for the bottom of the cap but, my sweater had a really decorative neck that fit tight around my head so I just kept the neck intact and cut a shape I liked for the rest of the cap.

I overlocked the one long seam and then I added a little shape to my cap by overlocking a couple darts from the top and sewing some random folds in the cap.

Cut the sleeve into a long continuous narrow strip to create a tassel.

Attach the tassel to the end of your cap and TA DAH-
you have a new winter cap :)

Got it Covered!

I have been very distracted by the untimely demise of my PC :(
Everyone said " Get a Mac " and so I have bravely purchased a computer I have no idea how to operate. When I first brought Mac home I could not even open the computer because I had the apple logo facing me instead of upside down.
But, enough whining- the one thing I could do for my beautiful little laptop was make it a cozy, padded case.
Luckily ( or it's pathetic ) I already had fabric, batting, zippers and trim and 1 day later...

Sweet, sweet success!
My beautiful Mac baby and accessories will now be safely encased when it travels with me to anyone, anywhere, anytime willing to help me learn all its features.
The simplest, stupidest tasks still elude me.
